Cephas Mavhono

 

Born on the 12th January 1982 in Gutu, Masvingo, Mr Cephas Mavhondo is one of the youngest and energetic Professional Assistants in the firm. He holds an LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of Zimbabwe which he obtained in July 2007. Currently he is also pursuing studies in CIS.

After completing his LLB (Hons) degree he joined the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs as a Law Officer in the Office of the Ombudsman. From this office, he gained experience in dealing with cases of governmental maladministration, human rights abuses by government departments and advising the public generally.

Upon leaving the ministry, he joined the firm as a Professional Assistant a position which he currently holds. He has a special interest in matters of company law,conveyancing and commercial law. However, he can effectively deal with all cases ranging from private law to public law in all the courts of law.

He has vast experience in research. When he was a fourth year law student, he researched and presented, inter alia, a  paper entitled The Legal implications of the National Health Insurance Scheme’ (February 2007). Working in collaboration with an eminent lawyer and Law Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, Mr L.M Mhishi, Mr. Mavhondo has also written  some published and unpublished modules on land reform and land transfer  in Zimbabwe.

Mr Mavhondo is an avid Christian believer and is also a tennis fan.
