Alex Farai Majachani |
Mr Alex Majachani was born on the 4th of January 1982 in Chirumhanzu , Mvuma. His major languages are Shona and English . In July 2006 Mr Majachani graduated from the University of Zimbabwe`s Law Facullty with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree.He has also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Relations with the Institute of Personnel Management of Zimbabwe.Currently he is studying for a qualification as a Chartered Secretary with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators of Zimbabwe. During the time that he was a student ,he was a member of the Kempton Makamure Labour Law Lecture Series at the Faculty of Law.The lecture series was co-ordinated by Mr Munyaradzi Gwisai,a renowned labour law expert.The lecture series was involved ,inter alia, in hosting seminars for the mooting of critical labour issues and legal developments.Through this exposure,Mr Majachani developed a keen interest in industrial and labour relations law and practice. Between 2005 and 2006 and in his third year as a law student,he joined and assisted in the Legal Aid Clinic at the Faculty of Law,University Of Zimbabwe. He advised clients and drafted pleadings. After leaving the University of Zimbabwe ,Mr Majachani joined the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Paliamentary Affairs at the Ombudsman`s Office.At that office,he was involved in human rights research,advocacy and public protection.He worked in the Ombudsman`s Office for 8 months before joining Gutu & Chikowero as a professional assistant in August 2007.He has particular interest in labour and industrial relations law, commercial and corporate law as well as the law of tort/delict.He also consults on matters relating to taxation and other issues.During his spare time,he enjoys reading legal magazines and journals. |
